TO PPL USING MAH ARTZ AS ICONS/WHATEVER

I know it's probably kind of late, but if you guys ever want to make banners or icons or whatever out of my artwork, feel free. Do it without asking if you want to. I don't mind! Just please, please  give some credit to me if you're forcing people to cred u for your work.  I've seen so many of banners or icons made with someone saying 'credit to

Hooray, I like the way you think about icons. I feel much the same way. I think it's silly when iconists DEMAND you credit them for making a 100x100 little thing out of something they, 98% of the time did not draw themselves.

Shouldn't we be crediting the artists, not the people who put filters over them?

I'm not sure what my standpoint on either is. One one side I'm an artist and on the other I WAS an iconist, so I understand that sometimes it's difficult to cred artz (specially if it's japanese!). But I would just like people who use my art and are parts of my flist to credit me if possible. XD;

But yeah, the whole DEMAND deal is pretty much fucked if you don't even try to cred the artists who made the picture :\

Oh, I understand. I'm both, not that I'm big enough that people would want to use my art for icons. But I've always been in the standpoint of "hey, that's awesome. Someone is using my icon." and as long as they aren't taking credit themselves for making it, I don't want credit either. I might go "ZOMG, you're using an icon I made! :D" but I'm not going to go ":| Credit me for that" like I've had people come into my journal and do (for something that just looked like a resized screencap, no less).

I just... yeah. To me, it should be the artist, the the artist AND the iconist, or no one at all. But that's my viewpoint on it and I don't expect everyone to share it.

I will credit you if I ever use your artz for something D: I think I have you credited on the Gaara screencap edit I ganked from you that I didn't realize you'd edited when I found it a bazillion years later and then you reminded me and I was like "whoa oops! XD" but yeah.

Anyway your pictures are looking awesome! I love the coloring on the first one! and the cool style of dress on the second one! :D Does this mean you're not leaving LJ and abandoning me? ;_;

I try to credit the original artist as well as the icon-maker, but a lot of times, they don't even list who drew the art, so I'm at a loss. @o@; I end up searching DeviantArt or someplace trying to match art to a name, which sucks.

Yeah, I usually just ask the iconist if I'm really interested in the picture XD I can't seem to find most of the fanartz that are made by Japanartists.
