I love that I have a girlfriend who would like me to hack a Nintendo PowerGlove for her to wear and use as a MIDI-controller.

... in my head that works like a wearable theremin. Please tell me that is what you are going for. AIR-CONDUCTING THE NES SYMPHONY!

That is an option.

We were intending it to be used to control various effects on her voice as she sings though, after we watched videos of Emilie Simon singing while using an arm-mounted gadget to control her vocal effects.
I was like "Omg, wait... I could do that with a Powerglove!" and she was like "DO IT!" and thus an awesome idea was born.

In fairness, I'm in no way the first person to do it.

I had the idea precisely because I had already seen someone else do it. If you want to see a pretty good one, check out SynthGlove on youtube.
The video of the prototype is undeniably the most metal thing anyone has ever done with an 80's video game controller, period.

Well the Powerglove I managed to finally acquire does not have the sensors to allow me to quite do the wearable theremin effect... but I should be able to use all of the buttons and the finger-triggers though.

My first method for turning the powerglove into a MIDI-controller should allow me to still use sensors should I acquire some later (a friend said he might be able to donate another PowerGlove for me to experiment with, which I would hope would include the sensors)

If that experiment fails though my 2nd plan would not work with the sensors I'm sure... which is unfortunate, but alas.
