Kerry on!

Is John Kerry climbing into the lead?

It's not as half as good as Kucinich blowing all his rivals out of the water, but it still is welcome news indeed.

"Skull and bones?" You mean his physical appearance, or his platform?

Skull and bones is the secret society based out of Yale that G.W. Bush is a member of (and so is Kerry).

ick... Kerry's recent behavior (particularly the whole dismissing his staff every time he falls behind in the polls thing) makes me sick. Granted he has the most experience, and I know he would be a lot better than Bush, I still have reservations about the man.

I'm not 100 percent sold on Kerry either, and I wasn't too impressed with how he voted to give Bush a blank check for the war (and for months now, he's been fudging by saying stuff to the effect of, "Oh, Bush did it all wrong, not the way *I* wanted it...") And many people agree with you that he hasn't handled his campaign management correctly either. One of his current slogans is "The Real Deal." Uh, yeah.

I think this poll is the mother of all outlier polls. I think the next poll will show Dean & Gephardt back in the lead with Kerry at 3rd/4th. Plus anyway, polls are iffy in Iowa anyway due to the complex nature of the caucus system.

Plus Dean is expect to get a rather nice big bump now with Mosley-Braun's endorsement.

I agree with you that the polls are "iffy" and I keep hearing how unreliable they are, especially in Iowa. But still, when the media spotlights results like these, they still help Kerry because he is being placed in a publicly positive light; he is being given "brownie points" on a national level whether the polls are accurate or not, and this will help give him momentum.

The media can definitely sway voters, especially those who are undecided. That's why I've found it maddening that no avenue of the media pays attention to Dennis Kucinich!!

This CNN article is bloody brilliant as it explains the complexities of the caucus system (in a rather humourous way).

I don't think Moseley Braun is really aiming for the VP spot, contray to rumours, but I think she is definately aiming for a cabinet position.

And because the caucus system awards delegates based on percentage (and not winner takes it all), there is still a good chance Kucinich will get enough people to the caucuses to score a couple of delegates. Remember, lefties tend to vote thus Kucinich will have some advantage with them (well as long as Dean doesn't suck the oxygen out first, even if he isn't a real lefty... heck he is a real centrist)
