I wouldn't advise taking a name from a book. Someone else is bound to recognize it, and know it's a false name.

What kind of names are common in the Badlands?

The name 'Bakko' is very common in the town I am from. Or even 'Ghali', but I think picking a name from that region would give me away.

Maybe a more...Melior-like name.
Something like city person, I guess?

There was a resturant about forty years ago named Sergil's. Perhaps something similar to that?
