I like the audition part 'cause people are wacky! I like the rest of it because I am interested in performing and seeing the progression/change in the contestants over time.
The judges seemed meaner this year or something. I do understand the progression part. From what I saw in the past, it was neat to see how all the hard work added up to growth. Something. I'm tired. :)
They're probably just sick of people who go on there who have no business trying out. It's probably hard to be compassionate over and over to people who are deliberately trying to suck or just be on tv, but I don't know.
The first day, they said there were 10,000 people auditioning and only 17 got through. Yikes. That must be tiring.
Sick fascination with people? My in-laws watch it, and I attribute it more to them being old and bored with nothing better to do. Otherwise, I'm with you.
I think it's the audition part that gets me because, from what I've seen in "news" snippets, the judges were quite mean.
Then again, I suppose many of us have gotten into some sort of reality type of show. I dunno. I was just thinking about it while I watched a few minutes of "The View." LOL
During the beginning shows, I love the auditions, b/c they are just hilarious. It KILLS me that some of those people think they can actually sing...tooooo funny.
Once it gets down to the top 12, I just enjoy the competition. As long as someone I like is still in the running, I watch. ;)
