[Private VIDEO to Parker, the new Parker.]

So I hear you're my warden. Awesome.

What was in my file? Is that thing in there? Seven years ago. They said it was me with the raccoons when the cops were called, but that never happened.

And I don't want to talk about it.

[House is so full off shit it's hard to believe. However, he's still playing inmate, ( Read more... )

I do not appreciate having to validate my existence, no. However, his opinion is not an uncommon one.

[Eyebrow, because he's curious about what House is thinking.]

I get his being curious. I mean, hell, I'm curious, but that was harsh, even by my standards.

[House is being sincere. He picks on people for who they are, not what they are.]

If you are curious, I am usually very forthcoming about myself. It is the least I can do to assist other artificial intelligences seeking to be recognized as sentient.

How many artificial lifeforms are there?

[House isn't quite sure what his final conclusion about Data is. He's aware of the biological definite of life, but he's also aware that, even in his own time, computers have been making huge leaps towards intelligence. House assumed that when technological developments advanced enough to mimic biological functions, that it made sense that at some point there would be sentient machines. But still, he's curious and unsure. Though, he's not stupid and knows that the best way to get answers in the long term is to not be a douche like Snape. Also, Data might be a useful ally in his new, hopeful war against Snape. Really, the barge needed more random.]

[And here House thought she was older than fifteen.]

Yeah. I'm your warden.

[Parker sounds totally convinced that this is the case. Whether she really is or not... who knows.]

The less said about the raccoons, the better. But what's all this about you killing your temporal paradox futuristic alter-ego, huh? Sounds like you've got some explaining to do.

Well, what was I supposed to do? Face to face with myself like that... time and space was collapsing. It was a bad scene.

That's still no excuse.

What, in your infinite wisdom, would you have done?

[The musical talk and the impending company both lead House to pull out the amps and hook everything up. He started fucking around with chords and tuning the guitar up. He had two electrics, but had ditched the old acoustic when he got the new one. The one in the stand that he'd already tuned up was the 1955 Les Paul, and the one that he was currently tuning was the 1967 Gibson Flying V.

It was the Flying V he was going to let Data play, ironically, even though it had been the more costly of the two. The Les Paul had been the one Wilson kidnapped, and he had a strange and special attachment to it that might or might not have some over-protectiveness to it.

He was adjusting levels and playing Satisfaction when Data arrived.]

[Data shows up in two pieces of a three piece suit that looks like he stole it out of the 20's. He is cautious at first, scanning the door, the hallway, even crouching low to see the bottom of the door before he actually knocks.

Someone willing to spend time with him is usually worth the risk, especially if he can learn something. He'd not quite caught up to the rock and roll era with his musical research. He waits patiently and oddly formally, preparing to offer his hand in greeting when the door opens.]

[House heard the knock and went to answer the door, guitar still slung over one shoulder. House is completely unaware that Data has just been inspecting his door for booby traps.

House is sort of taken back. He's seen Data on the video entries he's stalked, and this kind of an outfit wasn't expected. Recovering, he held out his hand to greet him.]

Hey, come on in. [Pause.] Nice suit...

[It really wasn't a bad suit, he was just hoping for some insight into the choice.]

[After dinner, as planned, House was in the common room. He had a stack of movies, but not all of them were guy movies. He had a couple he thought she might like, because the truth of the matter was that sitting in his room all the time made him think about home.

Movies were in a pile, House had "drink," and his feet were up on the low table in front of the sofa, ankles crossed. He was early, and he was waiting for Claire.]

[House sensed he wasn't alone anymore, and leaned back to look over his shoulder towards the door, and saw her standing there. He waited a beat before making a gesture with one hand, as if to say 'what gives?' or 'gonna come in?']

I don't bite, you know. Come pick a movie.

[He had a binder of DVDs sitting on the table with a wide assortment of movies.]
