Discussion: Actors for the roles.
Your new co-mod here! *waves* dhfreak and I have been discussing which actors would be the best for our new favorite characters and we are having a real hard time here (I swear, picking an actor for a fictional character was never this hard, lol) so, we decided it was time for a little discussion in the community.
We know SM said she pictured Matt Damon as Jared and James McAvey as Ian but sadly we can't see it, so we used our little brains and (always keeping in mind the book's description) found some possible candidates.
First of all, Melanie/Wanda. This was the hardest by far. We have only one suggestion at the moment. It doesn't mean we're not open to other actress, tho! Our pick is Camilla Bella. We believe she looks pretty in a strong, athletic way. She is 21, with tan skin and almost black hair. I mean, she matches the description, lol.
For Ian we thought about James McAvoy, who is utterly hot but sadly he's not the athletic, though tall guy Ian is described as. D: So, we thought of two other candidates. First, Channing Tatum. He's very tall, though looking. I could believe he survived an alien invasion in some caves in the Arizona desert. lol And then we have Ben Barnes. Idk, we like him? :Db
For Jared we thought about Matt Damon. And then we thought we didn't see him for Jared at all. :/ So we thought of three other candidates. James Franco, who gives the right vibe for our angsty and tormented Jared. dhfreak proposed Jensen Ackles, who is great overall. Maybe the only problem is how I can't picture him hitting a girl, lol. And I thought about Emile Hirsch because, I can see him being the leader, taking decisions and being mean with Wanda/Mel, it just flows to me.
After two days talking about this I decided to pick a few actors and make a graphic, just to see the Photoshop chemistry among them? ;P And this is the result (Jared seems so out of place, eeek)
