I can't stop watching. I love it! (And I'm a huge Ian fan, but imo it's a very good thing that they didn't spoil O'Wanda for the movie audience. They've included exactly the information we were given in the book blurb, which is just enough to pull in the audience without giving away the ending.)
I'm so pleased with the 'look' and setting for the film. The sci-fi scenes look so futuristic and well done, but the scenes in the cave look appropriately simple and like part of the past.
It looks like they did a really great job. That's always a risk with book-to-movie adaptations - that they won't work onscreen, for one reason or another. And, like Twilight, it's different enough that it can't really be compared to other sci-fi novels or movies.
I'm really excited about this, now. I loved the Ian bit and the cinematography looks great. And I'm not worried about (all of) the changes they've made, so.
I think it's going to do well and I, for one, am really excited about it and wonder how close it's going to follow the book.
Nah, I'm not worried about the changes either, especially since SM has been on board and probably okay'd anything dodgy. I think the changes they make in movies often make sense to make it more active rather than passive.
Yes! Like I can see why they'd take out Jaime and I'm assuming from the trailer that they took out the Sharon and Maggie part of the storyline (or at least them being the reason for Mel's trip to Chicago.)
I'd honestly be fine with any changes except Wanda/Ian not being a thing and Mel and Wanda's relationship. I am wondering how they're going to get Mel to "speak" to Wanda, though.
Are they cutting out Jamie?! Or did you mean just from the trailer? I didn't see anyone cast as Sharon on thei imdb page, but I did see Maggie.
Yeah, I'm with you, I would be okay with most changes except the Ian/Wanda pairing being omitted and the relationship between Mel and Wanda just IS the whole story. I would guess the 'voice' would have sort of that synth type sound to it? To make it sound airy and ethereal? We'll see!
