Benedict Cumberbatch will play Peter Guillam in the upcoming film adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, directed by Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In). He joins Gary Oldman, Michael Fassbender, Colin Firth and Ralph Fiennes. I've come to think of Fiennes as the show-killer. And I never did like him in films, either. He's always come across as so one-note.

I'm drooling at the thought of Bacon in period costume...

that could be realllly good, or it could fall on its face.
(then again, people probably said that about the first Tremors movie - "giant man-eating worms?" - and its got a following all its own since then)
