I never figured Ash had beaten the system. Sure, he thinks he has, the impression is that he has, but I always thought that WAS his heaven. Because Ash is a smart guy who likes breaking the rules and doing what others can't. Of course his heaven is going to consist of him hacking heaven.
I don't know... The working guidelines we seem to have of heaven is that it's only a copy of your memories, so the individual heavens of its inhabitants will never come up with anything new - anything that they didn't actually go through. So, either something is very different about Ash's heaven, or he's really found a way to break down that hall of illusions. I prefer it to be the latter, because I love Ash as a character, but (rather like Christopher Rudd in Lucifer), it sounds like he has the potential to create big problems for heaven. Which may not be a bad thing, because heaven kind of sucks.
