Okay, I REALLY like this interpretation of Castiel and his possible fate, because it felt a little like a reset button to me while I was watching, but you made some very good points. I hope the show runs in that direction.
You know, my first thought, when Castiel came back from the dead (again!): DUDE, YOU ARE TOTALLY JESUS CHRIST. In a show with no dearth of christ-figures, I think he's the one who's resurrection(s) have left him the most...changed. The first death was the start of humanness, the second a return to the Host.
I haven't the time to sign up (August is the opposite of Summer break for me), but I'm dying to see some of these get written. gabby_silang's as well. I feel like any Castiel-overturning-Heaven will be incomplete without Edmund Burke/French Revolution quotage.
There should be a thousand fics of Castiel and the angels figuring out what to do now. In fact that should be season six. I'm sick of Sam and Dean.
Speaking of singing hosannas, I may have been on the edge of the couch, hands pressed together in front of my mouth, on the verge of singing hosannas when Cas came back. Maybe.

What I am not in agreement with is the fact that WE WILL NOT GET TO SEE ANY OF THIS.

Never despair; but if you do, work on in despair.

THIS. I WANT TO WATCH THAT SHOW. I'm actually really excited about Sera Gamble taking over the showrunner position. Maybe she'll bring back Patrick!
