I think they're definitely trying to one-up The Tudors in terms of getting a really formidable cast. I mean, the story has its advantages in the sense that quite a few of the main characters are middle-aged or older, so they can go for the more experienced, well-known actors; but then because of the nature of the story, they'll have to rely on whoever's playing Cesare and Lucrezia and Juan to supply the sex appeal. The casting of Lucrezia, especially, will be crucial.

I'm not sure it's possible for me to be any more excited about The Borgias. I'm very very intested to see who gets cast as Juan and Lucrezia.

Me too. Especially Lucrezia, since she's around for longer. I'm fully geared up to hate Juan on the spot, whomever is playing him. :)
