>Because polytheism is like syphilis? I think its just because Lucifer sees gods as lower than demons.
what I want to know is, why is Lucifer so gosh-darn powerful? (it can't be because he's tied to the Judeo-Christian belief set & gets stronger when people worship God - because more people are polytheists than Christian)
>That was just my idea of a joke. :) oh. my bad. sorry.
>Not much in this show's mythology makes any sense; I kinda wonder if each pantheon views themselves as central - and each has memories of having created the world and mankind.

Exactly; they each seem to have claims of their own mythology being the One True Apocalypse (the tiff between Odin and Zao Shen). In that way, they're much more like humans than gods. Yet Kali says to Gabriel later on that they (or at least some of them) were "here first", meaning I suppose that they either pre-dated Creation (could there be multiple creations?) or that the Judeo-Christian God didn't create the whole world, only the angels and maybe humanity.
I looked on that page of Ethrosdemon's...I can deal with how the word "pagan" has been reappropriated to a new meaning...but it kinda defeats the argument (of railing against misrepresentation of non-Christian faiths) when one of the longer threads is talking about how cool it would be if the Voodun god (the Baron) had acted like Nightcrawler.

Agreed. That was just my idea of a joke. :)
Not much in this show's mythology makes any sense; I've long given up on that score.

I couldn't help laughing at that.
It would be cool if Christians actually realized their religion was polytheistic, tbh.
