Oooh, Americatown sounds seriously awesome.

"What is happening right now is such a terrible disaster for so many people and, in some ways, I think it makes it less hard to argue that the events in 'Americatown' are impossible," he said.

It is sad how true this is. It's very early in the morning for me, is this meant to be a series or a movie/mini-series?

I'd never heard the term "1.5 gen" before. Thanks for the explanation.

I wonder though, with the American economy in decline, what part of the world the show will decide to put its "Americantown". Will it be an English-speaking country? What will the state of the environment be like in 25-40 years? What forms will the migration take, and how will it be different from other diasporas in the past? This is going to need some sci-fi heavy lifting.

My impression is that it's going to be a drama series.

Oooooh! When you reference Mary Russell, does that mean she plays that role in an existing film, and upcoming movie, or just in your own imagination? Because I think my head just exploded. I adore that series.

In my mental casting of the film, she plays Russell to Stephen Dillane's Holmes.

Kenneth Branagh directing Thor? That's, um, an unexpected combination.

Americatown sounds seriously intriguing.

I know, right? I guess that means the casting for the film will alternate between perfection and awkward-Hollywood-cameo-moment.

Americantown sounds very interesting.

And I just want to say thank you for your news/stuff posts. I would probably not hear about at least half of these without it.
