kenorland, Edward has been cast! And they went with a Brit as we hoped: Robert Pattison, of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. (Summit Entertainment, under News)
Cedric Diggory??? (LOL) When fandoms collide! I'm guessing fan reaction to this news won't be as bitchy as it was when they announced Kristen Stewart.
Dude, I just learned that the character's name is BELLA SWAN. How much more Mary Sue-y can it get Sounds a bit like a Victorian brothel. Like the one in Deadwood!
In the spectrum of vampire/human love stories, though, I'm really looking forward to True Blood. :)
I'm curious to see what Stephanie Meyer's official statement on Cedric's casting will be. Not as if she's going to slag him off or anything, but what she says to her fans should be interesting.
It won't load for me either. I'm sure she'll like him -- though, egads, her own casting choices weren't great (Henry Cavill is great and all, but as a vampire? He looks too romance novel-y).
A few posts back, you mentioned Stephen Moyer, and while I was vaguely aware of who he was, I got excited because I only then realized he was the guy in Quills who stole Amelia Warner away from Michael Caine.
I've never seen Pattinson act (smirking in a Harry Potter movie doesn't count IMHO ;), but with Kristen Stewart's general air of-- capableness that I think will make a non-annoying Bella SWAN (ROFL, hilarious name), I have hopes the movie will be better than the source material.
I love that Moyer is in his mid-thirties, not your usual casting age for a vampire romantic lead. Not that I expected any less from Alan Ball, but I think it shows a wish to depict a thoughtful, adult relationship, and puts the older man/younger woman (exaggeration there!) theme front and centre.
Unlike Dirty Sexy Money, which I think has run out of finished episodes because of the strike, there are still a couple of unaired episodes of Moonlight. I think a new episode will be on next week. I also hear that it contains quite a lot of Josef backstory, even hints that he might have been in a relationship with a mortal woman back in the days when he was in New York - and that it ended badly, hence his pressuring Mick to end it with Beth.

Damn. Can't get her page to load...
I can't wait to see how they adapt True Blood. I quite liked the earlier books in that series.
