Moonlight wasn't quite as excrutiating to watch as I'd feared. I don't think it has a hope in hell of surviving unless the writers come up with some original storylines and better dialogue. (And why is pop culture
bagging anthropologists all of a sudden? Cut it out.) But Jason Dohring's 400 year old yuppie Josef reminds me pleasantly of my old

Anyway, I just finished watching the series premiere and oh my god, David Anders was hilarious. He rocked.

Oh, wasn't he? He love his British accent was completely different from his one on Alias, and how spot on he played all the comedy - and in Japanese!!

Why couldn't we have a show centred around a paranoid, amoral, wise-cracking, suspenders-wearing vampire instead? A sort of The Player meets American Psycho? I'd watch that.
You're right Hon...Josef...way more interesting!

I DO NOT KNOW. I would tape that on description alone; you'll just have to invent it for the rest of us poor souls.
Josef was truly the show's only bright spot. "Mick St. John," aside from being a shitty name, just seems sort of... lazy and distant, rather than conflicted and inhuman. He's way too fucking human. Sophia Myles is Adorable Girl Reporter #3, as seen on televisions everywhere. She's cute, but I don't care. The laughable "internet reporter walks up to crime scene and takes photos" bit had me screaming at the walls. Beyond that, the show just lacks... focus. Mood. Setting. Feeling of place and time.
Except.
Josef. The golden California vibe with the gorgeous red light and the water and the glass everywhere; and him, fast-talking, paranoid, sleek and dangerous. That was the aesthetic to run the show on, and they've utterly missed it. For the odd minutes that he's on camera, the show is actually going somewhere ( ... )

I'm don't know if I can watch any more of it. Like is short, you know... And yet. JOSEF.

Ha !
But seriously, it was in the graveside scene, Beth and "Mick" (yes, Mr. Orange has already named him Dick St. John and there's nothing I can do about that) are walking away and she's trying to get him to work with her on the investigation. She suggests he interviews the professor and she will "...take his young attacker."
It is a poor line, delivered with seeming disinterest.
I weep for my J-Do. He is literally the only redeeming thing about it all. I'll probably watch his scenes on YouTube, but I think Moonlight and I already broke up with that above line.
