No idea what is up with LJ. This post showed up two times on my flist, and the first version would not let me reply. It kept telling me the page was forbidden, which I found rather amusing considering the post's Jason Bourne content. ;P

But the new trailer looks so good - I cannot wait.

The Cult of the Amateir: How Today's Internet is Killing Our Culture

Hmm..now I have not read the book, but to me this also smells a little bit like high culture elitism - in that only certified (and copyrighted) individuals/groups are the ones that produce culture. So when someone outside these groups create culture it's labelled as amateurish, and accused of watering out or degenerating culture. I don't think that is true - as the so called amateurish culture can bring new, different and just as good insights and input to the cultural arena.

I'm always suspicious of people who use the phrase "the death of culture". Normally, what they mean is "death of my kind of culture".

So, Shia is like the bad boy son in the movie?

I haven't been able to find out who Shia plays, actually. He and Harrison really don't look anything alike, though, do they?

1) I know the movie is set in the 50's, so that's why Shia looks like a biker/greaser. But I couldn't help thinking that they got the period right in Back to the Future, Cry-Baby, and countless other films, and that the 50's decade is close enough in proximity to moviegoer's conventional wisdom or collective consciousness that it'll look parodic or distracting or silly.

2) That music is proving elusive; I do know that first music cue in the trailer is the oft-used-to-death-in-trailers "Atom Bomb" by Fluke.

1) I know almost nothing about 50's fashion, but at least I'm confident in the fact that there's no period clothing that can make Cate Blanchett look awkward. :)

2) Well, there's one thing the imdb boards are good for... Someone has suggested it might be "Weapons of Mass Distortion" from The Crystal Method. I'm going to check it out.

Thank you for the Bourne Supremacy soundtracks! I love the Bourne universe and I can't wait to see the third movie!

You're most welcome! :) I just love what Powell does with "action and suspense" music in those scores.
