I loved this movie, but it was so terrible. Is the director's cut really that worth it?

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction in terms? :) Or are you in a habit of liking terrible movies.

I would say go for it; most stores seemed to have cut the price on it so you should be able to get it for less than $20.

Not a contradition at all! I love terrible movies. LXG, for example, is another such terrible movie that I love. The sorts of movies that can only be considered guilty pleasures, little redeeming intellectual or artistic value but fun.

Yay! I'm so happy to have found another fan. Opinions of this movie are so disparate, and so much of it unfavourable, but I just love it so much - for shallow, OMG THE CINEMATOGRAPHY AND GONG LI reasons, and also for how it gets me emotionally. The tragedy and quiet despair is somehow very cathartic.
