I'm not entirely sure what happened Friday! It's like a lost day :/ I'm pretty sure we slept in for a bit? Then... uh... Hmmm. I think I ate my Hawaiian BBQ leftovers for breakfast/lunch. Not really sure, actually

Someone once told me that romantic comedies are to women as porn is to men. Hopefully I can explain this as well as she did. Porn for men is a sort of idealized escapism or means of vicarious living to satisfy their physical needs. Women are more emotional creatures than men, thus romantic comedies with their happy endings can provide that sort of idealized world in which they live vicariously through the heroine and satisfy their desire for love.

...Does that make sense? I definitely didn't explain it the way my friend did. =/

Yes! It makes sense. That's how I used to think of them, kind of - I assumed I liked them because that's the sort of story we like to hear about love, and it makes us feel like there's hope for us, too. Only I'm not optimistic anymore :P
