LR really made the foreground stick out in this one, and gave it better color depth. I think if the intent was a close-up to draw attention to the flower and the bud next to it, LR wins this round.

However, I'm a casual n00b photographer at best, so...

Not really a fair comparison - this would be for lens settings, but we don't know what you did in each program.

You need to *not* let the program do stuff in auto mode, and tell us what you're doing.

That said, I like how LR dimmed the background stuff, which was already soft-focused to begin with.
