boring day at the office

Feb 07, 2005 20:37

Ok so Angel went to Sunnydale to help out there. Which I can understand Buffy and Dawn need him after what happened. I can only imagine how hard it must be for them. Besides not like Wesley and I couldn’t take hold of things ourselves. We were already doing that, well then he came back and expected us to just act like nothing happened. I mean come ( Read more... )

Apparently, my new task at the office contained of getting Cordelia coffee. As if we couldn't make her own. But no, she was craving for some special coffee brand something or other and I had been voted to get it. As if there were anyone else around and her Majesty was most certainly not going to lower herself by getting it ( ... )

I jump up as I hear the door open. Was so dead silent for so long the sound startled me. I turn around to see that its Wesley coming in with the coffee, tea and a bag of donuts and boy did he look excited.

"Sorry it took so long. But apparently all of Los Angeles wanted coffee and for some reason they seem to think there's only one coffee shop.”

“Well come on Wesley, I only get coffee from the best shop here in LA. So of course there were a lot of people there.” I sighed as he held the coffee up to me. He then pointed to the bag he was holding.

"At least I've managed to get us some donuts as well. Did anything happened while I was away?”“Oh yay donuts, however shall I thank you” I said in a sarcastic voice as I rolled my eyes. I guess being cooped up in here with him like this for the past few days really started to get to me. “What kind of donuts did you get?” I grabbed the bag from him before he could answer and started to go though them. I pulled out a plain glazed donut and took a bite of it before handing the bag back to ( ... )

Yes, off course she'd get coffee at the best shop in town. No, scratch that. She, doesn't get anything. She badgers me into getting it. I looked slightly hurt at her sarcastic tone of voice. It's hardly my fault there's nothing to do around here now is it? I try to cheer her up by bringing donuts and she scoffs at it ( ... )

“Oh come on Wesley” I sighed “How hard can it be? Yea, sure Buffy had those super slayer powers but that doesn’t mean we can’t fight. And hey you were a rouge demon hunter anyways, fighting the demons all on your lonesome and your still here now aren’t you” I stuck my nose up in the air as if I made the point clear. Even though he was a demon hunter, I have to admit that made me laugh. I mean come on could you picture him fighting demons on his own? A world of no. Especially in those icky leather pants he was wearing back then, some people just can’t do it. He could barely walk just imagine him trying to fight some demon ( ... )

"There's no need to be so snippy, Cordelia," I sigh, holding the door open for her. "If I wanted something to snip at me, I'd put my finger in the paper shredder or something." Because right now there's very little difference between a razor sharp something and Cordelia Chase's tongue. And in the last few day's it's only gotten sharper. I should check her desk for a tongue sharpener ( ... )

Geee what did I get stuck with. Talking about putting his finger in a paper shreadder or something, what was all that about “Seems like someone has issues” I said as we headed out the door. And then he proclaimed that we were going for ice cream. Should’ve seen that smirk on his face when he said it. He was so proud of himself. Better let him stay there, not that I didn’t love a good brawl with him but enough was becoming enough already. Ok, then again I knew that altitude on the matter wouldn’t last for long ( ... )

Angel? Staked? He's over two-hundred years old, I doubt he'll just get staked. You'd have to be pretty good to stake him. And I doubt Buffy would stake him. If he never got there I'd think we got a call from Buffy or someone by now. And if he got staked there, I'd like to think they'd call us. They would, wouldn't they ( ... )

“Right someone would’ve called us by now” I said as I took a deep breath. Why did we always have to start thinking the worst when times got like this. Maybe because there wasn’t much else to think and to worry was better then sitting here with nothing. I nodded once again and mumbled to myself “someone would’ve called us ( ... )

Pushing my hands in my pockets, I resign myself to going shopping with Cordelia the rest of the afternoon. Dear lord, what has become of my live. I can't even come up with a good excuse anymore not to have to go shopping with Cordy. Then again, it does take her mind of matter. Namely that of Angel being away and over in not so good old Sunnydale. After a few hours of this I might very well be to exhausted to do any vampire hunting later this evening ( ... )

I could tell Wesley didn't share the same excitement as me. I guess someone like him wouldn't not like he even knew a deal of great clothing either. But at least he said I would look wonderful in it, which I of course already knew I would look wonderful in it. "Thanks." My voice was softer then normal, god how I sometimes missed my old life. Sure I was queen bitch but I was loved and hated all at the same time. My only care in the world was getting the latest fashions and giving hell to any loser. I was once on top now I was what ( ... )

She suddenly seems at a loss of what to do. I could tell she wanted that...whatever she wanted. Skirt, shirt, blouse, I had no idea. But she couldn't afford it. I'd have gotten it for her if I could afford it. But as it were? The both of us had a hard time making ends meet. And it didn't help that Angel had took off for Sunnydale ( ... )

“God Wesley” I stopped, almost right after he caught up with me. “What is wrong with me today? Why does everything seem to be going to wrong.” I sighed as I looked at him. “First all this worrying with Angel, no clients, not even one of those visions and now this.”

I took a few steps towards the direction we just came in “This wonderful shirt laying out there on display. Something I would dream of wearing but can’t” I turned around to face him again “Can’t because of this, because of these visions and this life we live. Can we really save the world”

Alright I know, I went down that whole path of starting to accept my gift, if you call it that, and helping the helpless. But it was times like this that made me start question it again. Sure, the money thing had to do with my stupid father and what he did. We lost it all because of him but I could have been making big bucks myself, if only it wasn’t for these visions. Maybe if I wouldn’t have ran into Angel that night, but then who would’ve Doyle passed the visions onto. Don’t picture ( ... )
