I've actually (co)done a limited amount of interviewing people to hire for a position. Presentation/attitude of the interviewe does count. Of course your test scores, it sounds may have been that all you had to do was not screw up the interview :-)

So glad I decided against bringing a can of beer with me. (running joke besides Jeff Foxworthy, my friends husband has done interviews @ walmart where they've crushed the can and threw it in the garbage as their name was called).
