So I kind of wasn't expecting the AS-level results I got...

In a bad way. Granted, an A and 3 Bs isn't bad in of itself, but it is by my standards. This has resulted in 3 major things:

-My kissing Cambridge goodbye (at least until Postgrad, provided I'm not entirely bogged down in debt by then).
-My deciding that I'm going to make schoolwork my hobby for the next year or so.
-My deciding that, no, this isn't ( Read more... )

It might be possible to take a gap year and app when you have your final results. Possibly. Not a careers advisor, etc.

I know you're disappointed as hell, but from where I'm sitting, an A and 3 Bs are scarily good. I only got two Bs and a C. *hug*

Possibly, but since I'm applying for languages, it's a very big possibly.

That's the thing- my school's the kind of place where Bs are almost the end of the world, whether or not you're top of the class, and I think I very much need to come to terms with the fact that not only is it okay to get them, they're actually fairly good. *hugs*

Hello to you! I'm glad you got to go to Barcelona. I am proud as punch (do people still say that?) to know you and I LOVE your attitude. Go get 'em, Tiger!

I'm glad too- the place was gorgeous, especially the bits by Gaudi. Have you been?

I haven't heard anyone use any punch-related expressions of late, but I like them rather a lot, so say away. :) And dear Lord, but you've put the most ridiculous smile on my face with that. The appreciation is an entirely mutual thing, m'dear. *hugs*

Aw, I love hugs! No, I haven't been to Barcelona. I am not well traveled, but I really enjoy hearing tales from those who are. I can "feel" with them, which is as good to me as actually going places...so feel free at any time to relate any of your traveling stories. I will "listen" eagerly.

Well, it's an amazing place, and I'll save the squee for when I post the pictures (they're taking forever to sort through though- there's about 700 of them!)

I COMPLETELY understand how you feel. And once you get to the stage where you've accepted that Oxbridge isn't the be-all and end-all of the entire universe, teach me how to do it too please, because it's unbelievably unhealthy to fixate on it the way I do ;)

*hugs*

Pssht, with 5 As, I reckon you're allowed to fixate away! Which one are you looking at in particular?

*hugs*

I'm an Oxford girl ;) Mainly because I live in Cambridge though, and can't face the thought of four more years here :/

Excellent marks. Although you know what to do if you're disappointed in them and you have a plan and a very healthy-minded one, for which I am really proud of you! Listen to you being all mature and pre-uni prepared.

Bacrelona does not sound excellent when one has to spend it in bed. Yikes. But Merlin and Sherlock are indeed fun in all the best pick-me-up ways.

Also, can I say your mood gif is very distracting. Very distracting indeed. Is he even clothed? Imagining Naked!Ten now, thank you very much gutter mind. XD

Thankyou! Really, it's being mature about it or being depressed, and of the two I know which one I'm picking. :)

Oh, they are- all the more so since we got those DVD-player things for the car and had a Merlin marathon on the way back. Sherlock deleted itself four days into the trip though, which was less than amusing, but waiting for episode 3 until we got back was SO worth it!

I... don't think he is, actually, no. And lol, my mind's right down in that gutter with you bbs! xD
