This site is going on my Bookmarks, right now. Seriously, I'm getting hungry just looking at the list of food there, let alone reading the recipes or baking the birthday cake for my friend I'm planning on doing tonight. I'm torn between these two though- anyone got any ideas ( Read more... )

Yay! I love it when people who aren't fans of the series in question can get fic. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. :D Dankeshen dearie!

And Hetalia... well. The canon is history on crack (if not LSD), but it's basically history with countries as people. England is an adorable (somewhat, at least), grumpy and rather short blonde guy, America's huge, strong, and a bit of an idiot at times, but loveable nonetheless. I'd seriously recommend it- even if you don't like the series, the fanfic's awesome.

Cute fic. ^__^ I love it when Alfred and Obama interact. It makes things more personal. And I think it's sweet that Barack is so supportive of Alfred's relationship with Arthur. ♥

It makes me sad, too, that we're "downgrading" our Special Relationship, but I think it's for the best. All nations need to work out their problems on their own and America needs to butt out. Perhaps if that happens, the world's view on my country would get better over time. One can only hope.

I share the Alfred & Obama love- it's the sweetest thing, blessem both.

Perhaps if that happens, the world's view on my country would get better over time.

Possibly, but you've got a long way to go before that. America's done a lot of good in its comparatively short history, but in the last century or so that seems to have gone downhill. Still, if the American people can make a stand against the policy of interference, I'm sure it would do an awful lot for your international standing- people have a tendency to forget there's an America beyond the politicians and the Far Right, so seeing that would be a good reminder that, actually, some of you are pretty decent.

/longwinded... thing.

*sighs heavily and hides behind a wall of shame* For the record, I, personally, didn't vote for Bush. And I agree he completely screwed us over, both domestically and internationally. His decision to go to Iraq was practically every nation's "last straw" with the US. I remember British officials, especially, were not pleased, hence why the only sent one soldier with our men, and even I think THAT was being overly generous. Unfortunately, even now, our country is run by far right extremists. They're calling Obama another Hitler, which is ludicrous. I have a picture of a particular banner being spread like a disease all over the US portraying him as such. If you'd like to see it, I took a pic of a right winger in front of my local post office (which was a total shock to me, honestly) with the banner, trying to convince people that Obama is a dictating communist. >So, on behalf of my country, I would like to formally apologize for the last century, especially the last eight years. *bows low* I know I'm only one person, but I've been ( ... )

A ring? I'm not sure what a "full partnership" with Britain would look like politically, but this is adorable!

Politically, it would probably make the rest of the world either roll their eyes or be very, very scared. But then again, the beauty of Hetalia is that you can distill these things to just characters.

And thankyou!
