i must clarify something about Flogging Molly and the Dublin Irish Festival, as i am a fan of Flogging Molly myself. Flogging Molly does not do free shows at the Dublin Irish Festival every year. this summers show was only their second performance at the festival. in 2003, they performed and the security there knew nothing about their fan base and how rowdy they can be. there was a riot...of course. i went this summer to see them live. i was about 5 solid rows back before the show even started, and by the time they stepped on stage, i was pushed up about 3 rows and had people all around me and could not breath and was clinging on to the shirt of some strange guy in front of me so i would not fall. i was scared. i somehow by the grace of god clawed my way out mid-way through the first song. i ended up standing on the right side of the stage near the back. i heard the rest of the set which was amazing and then waited. i had brought the cd booklet from the newest album, Within A Mile of Home and a permanant marker, just in case. well, i ( ... )

ah a mosh circle. I love those. They are really fun, but even I run out of energy in one, but I'm usually thrashing quite heavely in one. I did that a lot at dropkick murpheys (and for the record, they are from boston, they just like sounding irish)
