(Avatar fans, I haven't forgotten about you. In fact, I talk about the Avatar finale for like an entire paragraph in here!)

So, if you didn't know, Canada got season 2 of Spectacular Spider-Man before we did. (Deja vu, Avatar fans?) Sony took its darn tootin' time in getting the episodes off to another network, but they'll finally land on the new, ( Read more... )

And that entire scene is exactly why they are right for each other in the end.

YES. I was actually blathering at latropita about this on IM. I basically described the entire scene to her and how I FLAILED RIDICULOUSLY THROUGHOUT AND KEPT REWATCHING IT and I summarized it as exemplifying their relationship and why MJ is not his first love or his only love, but she is the love of Peter Parker's life.

I just...love the show so much for getting all of the ladies in there and how Peter has these distinct relationships with each of them.

Also, re: whether MJ knows. I DUNNOOOOO. I feel like she's giving off a pretty knowing air in general wrt Peter, like she just...gets him, but I'm not sure if that's intentional or just sort of, her general awesome.

AND NOW I AM GOING TO WATCH EPISODE FIVE SO I CAN READ THE REST OF THE POST.

I would love to see these blathers of yours. MOSTLY SO THAT I CAN FLAIL AROUND SOME MORE.

Totally! And I love how the show basically gets me to love each relationship for what it is. (Kinda like with Sokka...)

And I think she "gets" him on a slightly better level than ( ... )

lol lol the Captain Stacey and Gwen moments... she is still such a daddy's girl like in the comics. But, IMO, here it doesn't kill her character but adds depth to it.

<3333 totally one of my favorite parts of that episode. (Which is really quite impressive considering I was squeeing and fangirling all through it. XD)

Basically this show is like ENDLESS DELIGHT AND HEARTBREAK at every turn.

It's kind of like Avatar that way, isn't it? :D

Also, Avatar-Spectacular comparison is frickin' AWESOME. They really are quite similar in some ways, aren't they? (not so much plot-wise, but in terms of characters and depth and emotional range and such)

Hello, I occasionally used to look at your journal for your insightful Avatar meta.

I love what you said about the ending of Avatar. Aang's conflict with himself is one of the things that make me love Avatar so much. I get irritated with the amount of people who call the ending of Avatar a deux-ex-machina. You summed up very well why it wasn't one.

I've only watched a few episodes of Spectacular Spiderman, but I really like what I've seen so far. I see what you mean with your comparison between the two shows.
