On Boo-ing in Kansas City

Aug 30, 2008 14:32

While I don't have any trouble believing that some of this type of behavior went down, I do kinda think that it may be getting slightly blown out of proportion. I think that one person reported the booing by a small group of "pre-teen" boys and then a lot of people have run with it. It always refers back to these "pre-teen" or "teen" boys, so it ( Read more... )

Excuse me for saying this, but some fans are just waiting for any excuse to stoke the fanwar flame.

I don't know how big the discussion has gotten by now, but I've seen who was making accusations on one Idol site, and the people I trust to give unbiased, even accounts heard no booing.

Even if there were some rude fans, it never got to the point where it was heard by the general audiance or on the cellcast.

Therefor, I think this is much to do about nothing, and best ignored altogether. Just MHO. Those who'll want to believe someone was wronged will believe it even if the facts are different.

All the reactions to the booing I've heard so far are pretty much that these sepcific people are assholes. Nothing about groups of fans, or all the fans of a particular person being jerks.

I think those that want/would/will turn this into a fanwar are just as few as those who are jerks in the first place. I really don't think it's going to turn into a big thing.

But I really hate to think that these fans, no matter how few, took even a little bit of fun away for Cook. This was his night. Hopefully, none of them really noticed.

I truly believe this is all in the fan realm. I don't think anyone heard anything last night (possibly other than the person who heard an actual boo. And I'm not even sure about that). The people who are stirring the pot now and trying to make this out to be a big deal are the ones taking the fun away, and we're the ones whose enjoyment is being tainted. I seriously hope this never gets back to David. Talk about creating drama where there is none.

I really, seriously can't wait for this tour to be over. I'm so sick of fanwars, can we leave the Idol competition behind already? Damn.

Sorry, that was me blowing some steam.

I'm not saying it was actually a big deal.
But I think that he'd be a sad/pissed with even one boo. Not like, earth shattering, or like ruined the whole night or anything.
Just a tiny little smudge on what I want to be a perfect night for him. (I know, perfection is impossible).

Still, he was clearly having a blast last night. So it's all good in the end.

I think actually in a kinda maybe weird twisty way, that it's nice that Cook fans are sort of getting up in arms about this. Whether it happened as people say or not, that some Cook fans would be upset for the 'alleged' foul treatment the other Idols received is a nice sentiment.

But people that are just upset because they think it makes Cook fans look bad, that is stupid. Because who cares? Next thing we will get is more holy-than-thou Cook fans apologizing on behalf of ALL Cook fans. FANDOM BULLSHIT. Throw it in the garbage.

Hopefully there will be a crazy radical Mave Dance tonight, with a bottle of lube and a mattess and then we can all sing kum bay ya.

Oh dear. The "official" apology from the "collective we" is totally gonna happen isn't it?
*facepalm*

Though I still say, these people should be taken out the back and lynch mobbed by fangirls, as it happens. Well. At least mentally. That counts, too, right?
They're kind of ruining it for the people in their section and that really pissed me off.

(Plus, fangirls can be really fucking scary and that thought cracks me up.)

I've seen the collective apology happen several times on the AI forums, and everytime I say the same thing. "Don't apologize on behalf of me, assholes." I hate when people speak for me. IT PISSES ME OFF.

(Plus, fangirls can be really fucking scary and that thought cracks me up <----yes, yes they can. I don't think I could've sat back and watched that happen if I was there and sitting close enough to say something.

*g* I'm cracking up over what the fangirls might do.

Pelt them with Sharpies.
Aneurism for the ear splitting screams.
Decapitation via Poster (like that guy from James Bond with the hat).
Killed by the power of 1000 fangirls collective looking at them really really meanly.

I don't mind the actual "apology" so much (if I happen to agree with the sentiment), as #1 don't give them any more attention #2 could you sound anymore pompous - I hope other people don't think I sound like that #3omgrotflmao überserious much?

I just got off the phone with renaberena who is there with dreamerren and was told the same that you wrote here. I also had them on the phone during the show and never heard anything but insanely loud and positive reactions, not just during David's set ( ... )

IAWTC, so much.

Especially this: People need to relax and not try to taint David's homecoming. The tour is nearly over and David has had to wait a long time to get home.

Let's not feed the rumors and half truths from within. I don't believe there was any real booing, if there were a few idiots there, they were drowned out and certainly made no impact on the show itself. I refuse to take responsibility for their stupidity or even care about it.

And if some fans can't take it when the American Idol gets the spotlight for himself for once, that's their problem.

I apologize if I offended ANYONE for my last post.
All I was trying to do was keep everyone posted on what was going on with the other fanboards.

Really, I meant no offense, and I didn't believe it myself.
So ... just I'm sorry.

I didn't post this because I was offended. Please don't be sorry. Why would you be sorry?? It's just a discussion. I had seen this on a lot of other boards as well. I just wanted to get my opinion out there.

I don't know, I just feel bad because I think it was blown a little out of proportion as well and I helped with it and I don't know.

It's very stressful in my household atm so I'm just RAWR and yeah.

So ... I guess I'm not sorry ahah.
