Much has been occuring that I deem noteworthy. Particularly that I got into UVA yesterday! :oD It's early decision, so I must- and very much want to- go. I was curious as to how I would react if I got in, and I think my reaction shows I made the right decision. By NO MEANS would you get a better education at an Ivy League school than UVA. And they are not "better" than any other schools just beacuse they are Ivy League. That is a ridiculous attitude that our country has developed (and Westchester in particular). It is all about the right school FOR YOU. THAT is where you will get the best education- for you. Plus, it is what you do with your education that counts in the end. Ivy league schools are great , but no one ever said that they give the BEST education, per se. I'm really happy that you made the decision to go to UVA.

OKAY, who am I kidding, trying to be anonymous. We all know that I wrote that comment and that is my opinion. I used "per se" for Christ's sake! it was a nice try though (?)

When we were talking about "looking at colleges," you seemed far more impressed by UVA than you did with any Ivy's. You set your own standards, and you met them.

Hahaha, I thought that said we were talking about looking at "colleges." Those imaginary places teachers invent to keep us on "track." I'm impressed by UVA vs other schools in different ways. It just depends on what's more important to be impressed about. Thank you, dear :o)

Congratulations!

Now, about that senior year slacking....I wouldn't recommend sliding too far into that mentality as it is just about nothing from here on out that you need to worry about and nearly a year of nothing can do bad wonders to your head.

Yeah, even if I deemed it a good idea, I wouldn't be able to stop working. I have an overactive conscience and am a perfectionist like that. I think I could handle working a little less hard, though.

How has college been??? I keep meaning to IM you (although you have a different screen name now?) or leave you a message on your journal, but it always seems to slip my mind. Janel has said you're having a great time, and I hope this is indeed true. Enjoy yourself :o)

hi poo!!! I LOVE YOU, and although I said congrats, I wanna say it again :-D I'm glad you made the choice to go to UVA...screw Ivies, they are just a name...Gucci vs. Kohls, yes Gucci has the better name, but Kohls has more appeal to more people...I don't know, but college is supposed to be FUN just as much as it is about getting an education. With everything Will tells me about CMU (which is arguably a minor-Ivyish school) I would never want to go there. Even visting made me want to cry. Seriously, they have study sessions listed under parties on Facebook. But I mean, for some people that is what they want. But bottom line: BE HAPPY!!! And I agree with the whole fat/skinny letter thing...my Tulane acceptance had 2 pieces of paper in it (although some say that's because the paper got washed away in the hurricane). Oh well :) Anywhoo, I'm done rambling. I love you, and I couldn't be happier. Really. You deserve it quite possibly more than anyone else I know. <3 <3

Chrissypoo, that was definitely one of the sweetest comments I've gotten. It made me really happy, and ultimately, I think you're right. Jumping off the gorges at Cornell wouldn't really be fun, now would it? I think it'll be much more fun to work during the week and get drunk off my ass on the weekends :oD I'm... doing the atheist equivalent of praying for you to get into BC, which is coming up mighty soon... you too deserve it, Poo Bear :o) I love you!
