a party, a party! (open)

So, our little princess has spent all day getting ready. She hung up decorations (yes, because she's domestic like that) and cleaned her house, making it all ~pretty~ for New Year's. Stew had his music stuff set up, ready to go, and everything was ready at the bar. The door was open and anyone who was invited (basically everyone) could come in.

Guinevere did not want to go. Guinevere hated large gathering. Yet Stew had insisted, and Iphigenia as well.

And so there was a young, medieval ingenue, timid and gentle, sitting on a couch.

She was kind of hoping no-one would notice her.

Iphigenia, of course, was thrilled that her friend had come. She waved to her and walked over to said couch. "Guinevere, I'm so happy you came!"

Guinevere smiled, shyly. "I am happy to see you. Are you well?"

She nodded, pleased. "Yes, I am. And you?"

Johnny on the other hand did not mind at all a large gathering, and was at the bar, mixing a drink.

He had been hiding a little, since his run-in with Harvey. Between the party's organization and a supersekkrit project, he had little time for socializing, and thus was rather looking forward to seeing a few people.

And well. He'd promised cocktails to several people, hadn't he?

Annnnnd of course, Iphi was right by him, watching him and being impressed with his ~skills~. "What is that?" She pointed to the drink, curious.

"It's a Long Island Ice Tea, sweetheart." He pushed it over to her, with a charming grin. "Go ahead, try it."

She sipped at it delicately. "Hmm, it's nice. You should have one, too!"

And... there was an Anita Blake around. She didn't feel like attending what she referred to in her head as a frat house extravaganza.

But she was there because hell, she hadn't even celebrated Christmas, and so at least, she would do something for New Years.

Maybe she was hoping to see a Harvey around. But if she was, she didn't quite admit it to herself.

Seamus sat in a corner, quite a bit more subdued than would expect from him. He was at a party and there were girls and booze and music, for fuck's sake. Normally, he'd be in the middle of it all, but right now he just couldn't bring himself to stand up.

He would take advantage of that open bar, though.

"Well you look like you need a drink," would be Johnny's greeting when Seamus came around to the bar, if he did.

Johnny might have been in a good mood, but he knew to tone it down when the occasion called for it.

Seamus did, indeed make his way to the bar. He really didn't intend to be so obvious about his somber mood, but he never was good at hiding his emotions.

"What have you got that's good?"

"Just about everything you could find at the liquorstore. But I'm thinking..." Johnny held out a finger, and came back with a small glass, containing a couple ice cubes and an amber liquid.

"Glenfiddich on the rocks. Have that - then I'll see what I can fix you up with if you still need to mellow out."

Ivy had gotten dressed up a bit for this, and wandered around the area listening for music so she'd know where to go. She'd found it after a little bit of trial and error.

She looked around. She was pretty sure that she'd never met most of these people. Oh well, no time like the present to make new friends!

Of course, Stew was always up for new friends, particularly if they happened to be attractive women. He waved her in. "Hey, don't think I've seen you before!"

"No, I don't think so. I haven't been here for all that long." Ivy replied. "I'm Ivy. It's nice to meet you..."

He nodded. "Ivy? Cool name. I'm Stew." He grinned. "How're you finding your stay so far?"
