If you'd like one of those little wire-stem poppies the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars distribute, I've got a couple extra this year. I stopped to chat with the volunteers handing them out at the grocery store this afternoon and they gave me a couple after I donated. (I donate to them and the USO anyway, but it was kind of them.)

I've had ancestors who have served in every conflict this country has had starting with the French and Indian War to present. We take Memorial Day very seriously.
