Who is in charge of these things? Why is it not me?

God knows why I thought it would be a good idea to wind down last night by watching the last ep of season 2 of Torchwood, and tonight by watching the latest Doctor Who.

Torchwood: Exit Wounds )

torchwood, gratuitous bitching, fannish ramblings, doctor who

even the deadlocked angels at the end of "Blink" aren't, despite what the Doctor says, trapped forever

I guess, technically, all that would have to happen would be the lights going out, but yeah, that episode had way more consistent internal logic than any use of the Angels after that.

I find Barrowman often OTT in Torchwood--we expect Americans to be louder, bigger, more present somehow in comparison with Brits, but he is too much so, IMHO.

Agreed. I think some of it is the character, but he does take it too far at times. Even for an American. ;o)

Wow, Miracle Day is really that bad? I think I'm going to end up watching it. I already have the DVDs from Netflix, and I'm pretty good at pretending seasons 8 and 9 of The X Files never happened...

Miracle Day is the biggest pile of arse in the world. Don't do it. I can't even remember what happens, it was that drawn out and stupid.

I still remember when the Torchwood Series 2 finale aired. I used my brothers room to watch it as he had a bigger tv, and then he was mocking me as I was bawling my eyes out at the end!

Those are pretty much my feelings about Angels in Manhatten. Moffat broke so many rules with the angels, they ended up not being scary. And I still don't quite understand why he can't see them again. What if he uses Rivers vortex thingy, or gets them to leave New York, or just goes and sees them in the past for a bit.

I think I'm going to end up caving and watching Miracle Day. Which is probably a bad idea, but I hate knowing that exists and I haven't seen it.

What if he uses Rivers vortex thingy

Yeah, that thing doesn't seem to have ANY rules at all. Well, River's character doesn't seem to be constrained by logic in the first place, so... whatever. I still like her, but HER EXISTENCE IS LOGICALLY INCOHERENT OMG.

WHA HAPPENnnn? i hope he can get his shit together for the new companion. :/ frunz

I thought Davies overused the Daleks, but at least they're pretty simple: EXTERMINATE.

i hope he can get his shit together for the new companion

We can only hope.
