Nice to meet you. :) You're so lucky, having a decent PBS station that shows things like All Creatures Great and Small. Ours hasn't shown it in twenty years, although it is required to carry national feeds like Mystery!/Masterpiece Theatre, so I got to see Peter Davison in Marple this week at least.
I became a fan the other way around -- although I'd watched Doctor Who a bit as a child, we moved to the States long before the Fifth Doctor came around, so it was quite a shock to discover that the guy I liked so much from ACGAS was playing the Doctor.
nice to meetcha too :) yes, and I'm glad they do show BBC shows, b/c it's sooo expensive to upgrade my cable package to digital just to get BBC America (I don't want any of the other ones).
oh d'oh, Peter was on Marple Sunday night? and I missed it. they better repeat it soon.
nice userpic btw - I'm a huge Beatles fan and got to visit Liverpool for the first time back in April :)
Ooh, lucky you! I'd love to visit Liverpool. And Thirsk, for that matter, to tour the James Herriot Museum.
Yeah, the Marple episode was called "At Bertram's Hotel", and he played a solicitor with a large, cheesy moustache. Check TitanTV and see if your PBS station is going to run it again in the near future.
how's this for embarrassing? I tape ACGaS b/c it comes on in the afternoon when I'm at work, and I want to watch the tape at night when my mum's home. lol I have to stop myself from squeeing while my mind is going, "is he a hottie or what???" or whenever he does something soo Tristan - like tries to make a move on a woman and something goes wrong.
at least you are in the same country. I really wish I could move to London, all my favorite bands and actors are English.
I work for a large corporation myself (as of 2 years ago, when our little company got bought up by a huge one) but I've looked, nope, nothing in England that I could apply for :)
Greetings and felicitations from yet another States-bound Petey fangirl. Oh, for a decent PBS station that showed anything with Petey in it! My fangirling has frequently been an expensive habit to maintain. ;) Welcome to the fold, anyhow.
sure, you can call me Chem. whatever makes "naming me" easier. :)
you lucky duck, living in Britain. may I ask where in blighty you live? I figured you must be within train distance of London if you're planning on seeing Spamalot.
I'll be sure to partake in the celery too! thanks for the warm welcome.

I tend to get a bit obsessive with my interests. heh, I traveled to Japan once to see my (then) favorite band. I try not to think how much I've spent.

I'm Phe, one of the mods, the British one, no doubt the American one will be along later.
I would like to take this moment to Officially welcome you to the Den, Welcome.
The Dips are fresh and the celery is always crunchy.
As you can already tell we are a friendly bunch and we look out for each other, I'm sure you'll settle in great.
