"Napoleon Dynamite" - Painful to watch. Certainly not the end-all, be-all it's been made out to be. Very much a train-wreck of a film. Praise be to James Mason!!!...I thought I was the only soul in this, and the next 6 galaxies, that didn't absolutely LOVE this movie....
Sounds like you had a nice quiet holiday!...Lucky you! *grins*
Oh, it's related. It's a Holiday post and it was a Holiday card. Hope your weekend was warm and wonderful (still catching up on Friends list so if you posted something, I might not have read it yet). I hope next year is overflowing with love and happiness (wedding and whatnot).
The Holidays were very nice and I hope yours were as well.
I have seen Videodrome & Rushmore. I remember my mom freaked out at Videodrome (saw it when it first came out) and I had to explain a lot of what was happening to her (I was a STRANGE child). I haven't seen Land of the Dead yet but I really want to. Actually, horror movie I most want to see right now is "Audtion". In the past few months I've seen a lot of interviews with various horror writers and directors and this movie keeps getting mentioned again and again as one that they freaked out at. Otherwise, I still need to see "Saw".
Audition? SEE IT ASAP!!!! Great movie, and very, very uncomfortable. Actually, there's a psuedo remake coming out next month by Eli Roth, called "Hostle". Not a dead on remake, but the premise is the same. A couple of thrill seeking guys get more then they bargained for when they are tricked into seeking out a whore house somewhere in Europe. I can't wait for it!
Wow, you can tell I'm not that big a horror fan because Videodrome alternately creeped me out and made me laugh (though I could just be confusing it with The Hidden). It helped that I wasn't a kid when I saw it, I think; I saw The Exorcist in junior year of high school, and afterwards my BF and I drove around looking for people to socialize with because we were too scared to go park alone.
Have only seen the first season of Waking the Dead, but I liked it a lot. Those British mysteries, yum. (Am currently making my way through Touching Evil via the library.)
