It's The Holiday Season ...

This weekend while driving around, I saw a huge inflatable light-up dreidel on someone's lawn. Isn't that a bit premature people? Thanksgiving is still over a week away. What happened to keeping the holidays separate? I was brought up with the tradition of not decorating for Christmas prior to the end of the Macy's parade. Because when you see ( Read more... )

Well, to be fair, Channukah starts on Dec. 1, this year.

That being said, I'm still rather twitchy when I see xmas decorations at this point in the year. Of course, that could be because my mother refused to allow ANY xmas music or decorations until the day after Thanksgiving at the earliest.

In Canada, it used to be "post November 11th" (Remembrance Day)...but stuff was out in stores and on houses in early October this year. *sigh*
