Looks a little distorted cuz my calf is wide at the top and really skinny at the bottom. But yeah, I got it a few years ago when I was elected Commander of the FSU chapter of Pershing Rifles
Both were crafty, and Lee was the only reason the Confederacy existed for any length of time. Yet, Pershing served longer, served in many arenas, and if we're talking late career . . . Pershing probably would win.
Basically, he is rumored to have quickly suppressed Muslim guerillas in the Phillipines in 1911 by burial of killed combatants with pork.
If that's true, then it's genius. It's clearly hearsay, what I offer, but without that, Pershing's military success in numerous campaigns, plus his revered status to that of Washington, well, it pretty much lends a lot of weight on Pershing's side.
It's also rumored that when Pershing got to France in WWI, he had the stupidest Sgt. in the AEF be his personal aide. When JJP would write orders, he would have the Sgt. read them.
If the Sgt. couldn't understand the orders JJP would dumb them down until he clearly understood them. That way none of his orders could be misunderstood.
He is rumored to have done this because the officers of the time were obsessed with the failure of the Charge of the Light Brigade and never wanted any type of misunderstanding like that to happen under their command.

When it needs to be understood, it should be in plain text.
