I saw this on TV a few months ago (courtesy of my CKR Tivo wishlist) and since then I have an inexplicable affection for it. All the flaws that everyone mentioned in the reviews you cited are there, definitely. But there's something about it that reminds me of the second-rate movies my brother and I watched in high school during the summers, when it was too hot to venture outside of the A/C and we would just watch random crap all day long. It just makes me laugh, and the lack of plot coherency adds to that rather than detracts. Poor Callum had to play straight man to all these goofballs - I don't know how he ever kept a straight face in that bathroom scene - but hopefully he had fun on the set at least.
It's definitely a movie for a rainy day, imo. Hehe.
I think he did have fun at least - he doesn't get shown much in the DVD featurette, but of what glimpses you can see, he's always got a big smile on his face. :)
I have not seen this and after checking imdb.com I'm not sure I want to. ( See I learned from the mistake that was watching Unnatural & Accidental earlier today). But he sure is pretty.
I think Beau Starr had the right idea being uncredited - at least no one checking his IMDb would ever associate him with this movie. He's got the last laugh. *g*
