I adore the scene where Sandra asks Duck to feel her abs... it is so perfectly awkward. And where Duck gets Emily's asshat bf to leave...there is a brief flash of Callum's hipbones nom nom nom. And the final scene is so perfectly touching and sweet! Ah!
callumvixen (SO love your name) is right. I especially love that those two scenes run back to back. The scene in the hotel room, where he shows so much gentle (hot) kindness (hotness) to Dan. Then we go immediately into to the scene where Duck, quite naturally and awesomely, pins the kid to the wall and then runs him off. I like how it fleshes out the character --- shows the two sides of his nature.
I also love the double meaning of the title "Will Be Wonderful". Especially because it has such a sweet, hopeful ending for Dan.
Absolutely right. Duck is our filter for all the other characters in the movie. If we look at the others through his eyes, we see who we're meant to see.
The best example, for me, is how he plays off Carol as she goes ape-shit over the sign being wrong. He reacts to her (her frailty and insecurity) rather than her behavior (which is crazy and unreasonable). You know?
I adore this film! I have so much love for all the main characters in it (which is rare for me, anyway). Also, Duck is one of my favourite CKR characters, I wish he'd take more roles like that.
