I'm a long-time lurker, but I don't think that I've ever posted to this community. However, I just wanted to make you all aware that the movie trailer for The Vampire's Assistant (new name of the Cirque du Freak movie) has been released, and is available to be watched on youtube

I don't mind that the trailer is so different from the book.
I mean, I just want to generally enjoy the movie rather than focus on its flaws.
I think we all knew that this wasn't going to be the same, so why not enjoy what it IS.
and to me, it looks pretty funny! ^^
My disappointment would be that Harkat looked a little strange, and he is one of my favourite characters so this made me a little sad. As well, Evra seemed different in the way he acted from the book. Is it just me, or was Evra shy and sweet in the book? Evra was also in my top five favourites, but I'm disappointed with him in the trailer.
I really liked the cirque portion of the trailer. It looked cool and interesting, and just like I pictured it in the book.
For those people who think it's too 'colourful' the book decribed things as being plenty colourful!
and also, the book was more of a horror-comedy than strictly horror, so it's nothing strange to see that it has a lighter tone.

I like it, I think. :)

Hmmm I really wanted to not like this movie after those photos came out...but this trailer... John C Riley kinda redeems it a little. Gah it's still hardly like the books.

Oh well, I'll probably go see it. But during a $4 matinee instead. :p

Well, I've been waiting for this movie sine they announced it was going to be made. I'm going to read the books again, but to me it looked pretty good! For the record though, I didn't notice Larten using contractions... where did he do that in the trailer?

"That's bull" was one of them. Hahah, I kind of noticed too, and I was sad. It's such a big part of his character! :O

Gah! You're right! I didn't notice that. That truly is a disappointment. It's one of his most defining features.

Yeah, I didn't like it because I know they have to change a lot of things, but that just seems like it would be such an easy thing to keep! Very easy and then it would keep true to the character.
