The TCE Victory Event!

Dec 16, 2009 19:30

TCE is having an event to celebrate reaching 50 chapters! And since really the only thing we can do for you guys to reward you for participating is write more TCE, that's exactly what the prize will be: more TCE.

Current Point Total: 105
Top 5 Contributors:
1. erueru_2d - 17
2. ellenel13 - 17
3. minuiko - 11
4. djsoliloquy - 10
5. asuranj - 8

Between when we post chapter 45 (the victory chapter!) and chapter 50, you are encouraged to submit TCE fanworks to this thread. Each fanwork will be worth a certain number of points (the whole system gets explained below). For every fifty points you guys accumulate, we will post a TCE chapter a day once we reach chapter 50. If you guys get together 100 points? Then chapters 50, 51, and 52 will be posted on three consecutive days. If you get together 300 points? Then that's a solid week of TCE.*
*Although actually reaching 300 points is nearly inconceivable, we are going to put a cap on it at that, just in case.

So how do I score points?

Here's the breakdown of our point system!

A fanwork is worth 1, 3, or 5 points based on time spent and polish.
For fanart, that means 1 point for a sketch, 3 points for clean lineart, and 5 points for full color illustrations. For fic, that's 1 point for a drabble, 3 points for a short fic, and 5 points for a fic of a thousand words or more. Other kinds of fanworks are more subjective, but we're nice people so we'll probably err on the side of rewarding more points rather than less.

Translations of TCE chapters are worth an automatic 5 points.

If a fanwork is your first contribution to the event, it's worth 3 bonus points.
It's worth it to delurk, even with something small!

If you're posting the first fanwork for that chapter, that's 2 bonus points.

If you're posting a fanwork other than fic or art, you get a 2 point Originality Bonus.
This isn't to punish artists or writers, but rather to encourage people who aren't artists or writers to participate anyway. TCE loves you, too! If you make FSTs, YouTube videos, origami, sock puppets, decorated baked goods, or anything else you can think of, miscellaneous fanworks are worth an automatic two extra points.

So, for example, if you make an elaborate diorama of a TCE scene for a chapter without any fanworks as your first entry to the event, that's 5 (time spent) + 2 (originality bonus) + 2 (first fanwork for the chapter) + 3 (first entry to the event) = 12 points!

How long will the event last?

Chapters 45 to 50 will be posted at our usual pace, so, one every 4-6 days. We'll give 24 hours' notice before posting chapter 50 so people can finish up any last submissions!

For the course of the event, please use the following format for the sake of our sanity: post all fanworks to this thread, each fanwork listed in a new comment (don't thread them!). In the SUBJECT line, put the chapter number and the type of fanwork it is (art, fic, translation, or other). In the BODY of the comment, put the location of the fanwork in plain text (please don't hotlink!) and any considerations for bonus points (if it's your first entry to the event, the first fanwork for the chapter, etc.)

We'll update the Index every day so people can keep track of which chapters have what, and we'll keep a running tally of how many points everyone has individually accumulated--the top 5 contributors will be tracked throughout the event!

Thanks for reading and participating, everybody. You all are the best part of writing TCE!
