[-Obviously sounds quite fatigued and quiet as if he is whispering to himself-]

A cruel fate is cruel even if such fate is uncommon to the patrons of this realm.

The greatest tragedy has yet to come true but I am sure when a day comes that shall be the end of me...

[ooc: CHANGED THIS! Decided to do log with Larsa in the discedo logging place]

[-Notices that a frequency has opened up since he spoke but he figures that perhaps his device is simply malfunctioning again since there is no possible way anyone could hear him.

Or, so he thought...-]

...speak.

Tell me, Gabranth...do you fear death?

Long ago before awakening in the sin that is Discedo, I would have answered you so valiantly and claim that Death itself does not frighten me for I act as sword and shield for my Empire.

Yet...

After experiencing such blight twice as of now, I do admit such a fear lingers despite walking a soil that allow the dead to return to the living.

What shall happen once the Gods take their revenge against those who have stolen their power? The Gods never intended to surrender their powers into the hands of man...

Therefore it is likely they shall take such powers back.

[-Realizing now that others can hear this once private recording, the Judge Magister only sighs in response.-]

...Resurrection can do that to a man once believed that such death was absolute.

Who is it that speaks to me now?

Ah... so you're one of them that came back.

I'm Anemone.

Aye, that I am. A man who has been resurrected twice, once before and once here.

Anemone? I am Gabranth.

The greatest tragedy?

The greatest tragedy is not knowing many times one man may die before Death decides to claim it's vigor back...

The scientists are not Gods no matter how many times they proclaim they are.

Once the true deities demand their rule from the hands of common man, many shall die and forever be lost...[-Trails off-]

I think you're right. You can defy nature sometimes, but to completely change it is impossible. In the end, it will win.

That's why people have to protect the life they have.

Nature's march is constant while man's march varies in haste...

I'm sorry. I am. Neither of you deserved to...

[-His tone actually changes a bit, becoming more welcoming now that it is not a stranger who has contacted.-]

Sakon...

There is no need for apologies from you or any other, be thankful that death is not permanent fixture or this realm.

Although, today's spiraling conclusion reminds me so much of the haunting memory of my blade twisting within the belly of a young naive boy...

Unlike my brother, he was not resurrected for he died in Dalmasca along with the rest of the dignity I once had.

Even so, it hurts to lose someone like that.

Gabranth-san, if there's anything you need, just let me know.

I don't think y...you've lost your dignity.

Indeed, it does. If such woe lingers in the heart of the slain boy's kin, than I must continuously seek redemption for the crime I have committed in Dalmasca...

I shall be fine, Sakon. I shall be fine.

Gabby, what are you talking about? Whaddya mean the end of you??

[voice] the_chaosblade November 6 2008, 18:37:09 UTC
Does a man who have fallen twice in two separate realms can possibly survive another fall?

I am speaking of mortality, I am speaking of my own morality for I know I shall gladly give my life to protect those I have vowed to protect.

... You know what I think?

I think you're right and wrong. You should do whatever it takes to protect the ones you care about, but I also think you should try your best to live. 'Cause dying hurts those people a lot, too. I can't say much for where you come from, but as long as you're here, don't think that you have nothing to live for. If anything, you have to live for your friends and family.

[-Chuckling quietly-]

...Family and friends, you say? Hm.

Such noble and wise words from someone so young, I am honestly humbled.
