HOW MUCH DO I ♥ THIS FIC?

Words cannot say! I never would believe that I could ever enjoy reading about Brandon Flowers, but YES, now I do!

I love the flashback style, it makes the reader try to figure out how they get from point A to point B.

The relationship between Mike and Billie is obviously complicated, and not knowing anymore about it than Brandon does makes it even more interesting. Still, Billie seems like Billie and Mike seems like Mike, which is key for me to enjoy any Green Day slash.

Uh, the porn. I can only say...All Your Hitachi Magic Wand Are Belong To Us. No dear, it was not too long. :-) And because I am a big fan of verisimilitude, I am happy to hear that you did your homework.

Time to go to bed. Before the third and final member of Green Day can find him and propose marriage, or something.

Wow. That was awesome. I really don't like Brandon Flowers, but dude - I loved that Brandon/Billie hate!sex fic. So this is like - wow. So many things made me happy about this fic, but mostly just that YOU WROTE IT. Write more. Soon. Please :)

You have such an awesome way with these characters, I swear to god if I didn't know better I would think this was real. And I love the way that you leave us a little off-balance and a little in the dark just like Brandon - I like that WE don't really know exactly what is transpiring between Mike and Billie either, that we're not fully privy to their inner drama. So many funny one-liners also - I love that with your writing :)

The sex part - ZOMG!! Poor Brandon - he never really knew what hit him ;)

Billie kisses like a cherry bomb with teeth... HA HA HA!! Love it!

Ahahahaha, yay! I'm so glad you liked it, dear. :D It's been awhile since I wrote any Green Day fic (*facepalms in shame*) so it was really nice to get back into it. And yet somehow Billie Joe (my main man!) wound up being an almost peripheral character? I don't know.

And I promise I'm writing more, I PROMISE!! *squeeze* Hahaha.

Thank you darling! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, for whatever reason I always find myself coming back to the relatively canon!Mike who is the responsible, resigned one of the group. Sorta bums me out, but oh well. :D WE LOVE HIM. *smooches*

I seem to have gone to a different place reading this than everyone else; the sex was good, but at once both irrelevant and the whole point. (Er, and it didn't occur to me to question the position as I'm well aware it's possible, lol.) But by the end I was left not with a need for a few minutes of alone time ;) but feeling thoughtful and on the edge of tears, actually. You're one of the few writers I know of who can do that, bring the emotions in a sex scene to such life that they can accompany and sometimes override any erotic enjoyment for me - and I mean of *any* types of writers. ♥

Many come for the porn; some for the funny; I, apparently, hie for the angst. :D I liked the intercut structure and I liked that we never really got a clue about Mike's behaviour. There were hints, oh yes, but even the fannish reader is left almost as in the dark as Brandon about Mike's motivations.

And I loved this: Brandon watches as Billie's arms come up to cover Mike's, and the lines of their bodies are one and the same now...

You know what, doll, I'm so happy to read this comment, because it means I did something right. :D

I started this fic back in November with one thing in mind: write more sexy hate!fic, and why not use a winning combo that I'd already tried once? And I was listening to a lot of "Sam's Town" at the time, too, which was another impetus. And then I let it be for awhile over the holidays as other things intruded, and when I came back to it I was in a bit of a different mind-set, and that sort of showed through, for me, during the editing and the ending. It was really sort of.... energizing, to look at what is a "familiar" relationship to me (i.e. my OTP, Mike/Billie) through the fresh eyes of someone else, i.e. Brandon. So, yes. I'm glad you got that reaction. :D

I meant to say this as well - when Mike apologised to Brandon for having been caught in the middle, it seemed significant that what he *didn't* say was, "Sorry you had to see that." Now, perhaps my expecting that phrasing is a regional thing, but even so, it's significant because he wasn't sorry for that part. Not after Billie instigated everything. Mike made damn sure that Brandon left that hotel room crystal clear on who Billie belonged to, which was something of a renewed lesson for Billie, too.

It's funny, b/c I used a similar set-up in that Gerard/Billie/Lars fic, in Gerard's POV, and in both cases the POV character is a lot like the sex: essential and irrelevant both. :D
