I think the media got tired of talking about Elizabeth Smart and needed another story and the Peterson one came up. And, as little as I watch TV, it's sad that I know more about some guy up the state from me that doesn't personally effect me and less about the war. (Which is partly my fault because of sitting here with my thumb up my ass I could be doing research online)

Unfortunately, they will find something new to talk about, probably alien babies coming out of 12 year olds or something disturbing.
