Funny, I hear the name Ed Neal and I think of the crazy guy in TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, the original one. Shot near Austin. Same guy, right?

Yep.

I really dont mean any snarkiness to him... just that this guy at the Austin Chronicle seems to be overreaching.

I've read that piece a few times too. Looks like the writer is a huge Ed Neal fan (*understatement alert*).

BTW: Do you happen to know the best resource for finding out when ADV holds their Open Calls? Have had no luck on Google. Thanks!

You know? The last open call I did was June of 99. Got nothing from it and decided to never try again.

Matt says I should go, but after 10 years of being there? They should know who I am.

I read that article too, and frankly I think it was written by an entertainment writer doing a press release instead of an article. Personally, I think Ed would make a good king, having kicked around with him a couple times. He'd be fair, impartial, out-of-his mind - everything I want in a king.

As far as open calls in Austin go, Monster Island is no more and Charlie Campbell is here with us folks in Houston directing Gatchaman. There is some talk about folks from that area possibly resurrecting the talent pool/studio as an independent venture... don't know what's coming of that.

But yes, there was some definite embellishment in the article.
