Spoilers are inside the cut only, so you can read whatever you see outside the cut when it's on your flist or whatevs

he was the most strategic player out of the boran alliance, but that doesn't mean he was the best. the stuff with kelly was an incredibly stupid move which basically worked out because he got lucky. ia he was playing to win more than anyone else but that doesn't mean he deserved it the most. also he wasn't the leader of the e/k/t/l alliance. nobody was a leader. he played the most visible game but that doesn't mean he played the best one, and yeah he did kind of get fucked over for the last immunity, but he definitely wouldn't have won against ethan in an f2 anyway. he also almost definitely wouldn't win against KJ

i mean yeah he was great to watch but you really overrate him strategically.

in the context of his season i don't overrate him strategically at all. he and big tom were both playing with win and were both strategic if you subscribe to the big tom only plays dumb theory. but lex was much smarter.
the kelly thing didn't work out because he was lucky. there's 3 days in between votes-- it wasn't like it was a last minute decision brandon made. lex brought him over to his side and then voted him off next to make his remaining alliance continue to trust him.

i mean like i said, i need to rewatch africa, and maybe then i'll tone down the stanning. if he made it to the f2 he deserved to win. but we know what i qualify as 'deserving to win'.
he played the best game. unless you can convince me someone else in africa had a better or smarter game.. i'm open to hearing other theories.

big tom doesn't play dumb anything, he's a major goofball but i think that he knows how to make it work for him too and he knows it'll make people like him, he'd have made it to the end if he were up against any of the f4 of africa or f5 of all-stars which is why he was out there both times ( ... )

i think tom over-does his southern goofiness as a strategy. not to say he isn't goofy or whatever irl, but overdoing it to come off as less of a threat works-- fabio did it, too, but to a lesser extent imo ( ... )
