What's a Chaos Emerald, Sonic?

A Chaos Emerald is one of 7 emeralds in total. They are extremely powerful and when all 7 are brought together, they say a miracle is supposed to happen. I know from experience that all 7 emeralds can create a warp in the space-time rift... Maybe send us all back home.

But a normal person would have problems with them... Chaos Emeralds turn your thoughts into power. So if you have dark thoughts, then you use the emeralds for evil, but it's opposite if you're having good thoughts.
