There was enough to be grumpy about. Jim didn't mind too much that he was a kid - it was fun when he wasn't being chased by evil little girls with sticks or getting yelled at for lying about his age when he wasn't - but he was starting to find reasons to hate being so tiny. He couldn't reach things in the kitchen, he couldn't play pool, he couldn't do really anything.

A boy could only amuse himself with a ball for so long.

He stood in the rec room, a boyish scowl on his face showing his current mood. He wouldn't let the island get to him, oh no. He walked over to the bookshelf, intent on the finding of a book, but found himself staring only at a huge collection of kid books on the bottom, the adult books on shelves Jim couldn't get too.

"I'm not a kid," he told the shelves he could see, as if it would magically change things on them.

When the books remained the same, the insane idea of climbing the bookshelf came to mind, despite the fact it was probably Not Safe to do. Jim had managed to climb a tree recently, a bookshelf was nothing. Stepping onto the first shelf, he began to systematically climb upwards. He didn't even want to read that much - suddenly it was more about showing the island it wouldn't get to him.

[Summary: Wee!Jim is bored and wants to read. The only books he can reach is the kid books on the bookshelf, so he decides to climb up and get a better one. Hawkeye snatches him before he can do so - apparently it's dangerous - and the two talk about the switch as well as some of the things the island pulled on people before. Snape pisses Jim off by treating him like, well, a kid and giving him a bad book from the shelf to boot. Pam catches Jim climbing and when his attempt to get a good book fails the two share her copy of Alice in Wonderland before taking a nap together on the couch.)
