Catching her wrist, I turn to press a kiss to the palm of her hand, my fingers curling around her own.
"You're hurtin' my feelings."

"Well, sorry, but your serious fudging business will have to wait until after my shift," I tell him, nudging his cheek with the tip of my nose before I slip away, tying the apron around my waist. "But you're totally my hero, Neil McCormick. I'll find a way to pay you back somehow."

He knew that in reality, it was probably best to avoid a kiss. Aidan was with Martha and he knew that he could resist even the small temptation of Sookie, it was best not to tempt fate by kissing a beautiful, kind woman that he had some admitted chemistry with.

"You're not repulsive," she settled for saying. "But I'm not gonna be the homewrecker. There's just no way. I may be dressed questionably for the standards of this time- those being the only parts of this London that I really can't stand, that sometimes the ghosts look at me like I've committed some crime- but that's all practical. Not trying to draw in any guys at the moment. Just wanna wait tables."
