"What's with the grandpa music?" Tony said, pausing on his way in to try and fish some reference material out of the bookshelf.
He turned and studied the people in the room. No, no... bingo was his name-o.
"From an older time period," he said, clicking his fingers and pointing at her. "Always something to do with who's in the room. Someday I'll work out if it's automatic or just... creepy."
"When I turned 21," Tony said. "Still the leader in worldwide weapons development." This came out more wry than proud. Partly for obvious reasons, and partly for ones that... weren't. "Well, until recently."
The more Peggy learned of and listened to Tony, the more of Howard she saw in him. She couldn't help it; the similarities were obvious, even those tempered by something different in Tony. She couldn't put her finger on what it was, only that she knew he was different from his father somehow. Perhaps in a better way.
"Stark Industries no longer produces weapons," Tony said, with a very tight lift of the corners of his mouth. Not really a smile so much as a tension that vaguely resembled one. "I decided the future of the company lay in... another direction."
