For all that the island seems intent on providing her with copy after copy of familiar faces, Faye finds it rather hard to believe that so many people mistake people for a mere face. Denial, of course, must be in play. Because even from a distance, as Faye walks closer by the Rec Center, it's pretty clear that no matter how much the man's features match Eames', everything else varies. Musculature, stance, something about him hard and gritty where Eames has always been smooth and collected. Her eyebrow quirks, and maybe it's just masochistic on her part- seeing Ned, over the months, had never been easy, and at least there the difference in hair color was immediately clear upon each encounter- but she finds that she's by his side before she can stop herself, maintaining just above an arm's length of distance as she leans against the railing for support.

"Don't run out too fast," she warns with an arched brow. "You won't find too many of those on the island."

"Wasn't mine to begin with. Bummed it off some kid," Tommy said with a shrug of his good shoulder, peering at the glowing tip of his cigarette, "This is my triumphant fall from the wagon. All I need now's a drink."

He turned his gaze to her and something in his face softened minutely. He was too goddamn tired and beat down to really bother with social graces, but he'd never really had it in him to be rude right off the bat to a woman.

"One cigarette isn't going to hurt you," Faye pointed out, running her thumbnail momentarily across her forehead. "And, with the shortage of supply around here, I very much doubt that anyone would let you back on the wagon. It'd take a pretty good fight to get your hands on a box. And I don't mean a physical fight." Faye's brow arched as she took a closer look at him, at his physique, at the way that even while relaxed, he seemed in a position to leap up whenever he chose.

With a soft smile, she exhaled deeply. "I used to hate it when people pointed it out to me after my arrival, but I guess in some ways, I've gone native. Which means that I'm almost obligated to say... you look new. Remarkably calm, though. Someone give you the run-down already?"

"Tried to," Tommy said, his head bobbing in a nod, and while he was relaxed, every movement was careful. Jostling his shoulder wasn't something he wanted to do, right then, now that the pain had faded into a dull ache.

"I mean, I know their hearts were in the right place and all, but this isn't the sorta thing you can make sense of with a whole lot of words, you know?" Tommy said, one corner of his mouth lifting, "Soon as they started talking 'bout dimensional travel and all that shit, I had to get outta there."
