Natalya would never get used to a) the Island's knack for truly inappropriate holiday activities and b)people's reckless idiocy. She had people she was looking for, the Hub was merely the first stop. As annoyed as she was not to find any of them here, perhaps it was serendipitous she'd swung by. Clearly the young man had no idea what he was holding, although now that the evil looking little thing's teeth were locked in his flesh she hoped he was picking up the clues.

From the doorway to the Hub she slung her rifle off her back, lifted it almost casually to the level of her shoulder, and fired a round straight through the demonic doll's head and through the opposite window. It was an easy shot, but it still felt perversely good to be back in the saddle.

"Put it down," she told him, starting to cross the room toward him.

He's flailing about with the creepy thing on his hand when she walks into the Hub, shouting at it to let go even as it tightens its weird little fucked up baby teeth grip. See, this is why he doesn't like children. One second they're all cute and tiny- not this one, though, this one's just ugly and there's no helping it- and then next, they're trying to eat your hand for some reason.

And in that instant where he's strongly considering bashing the baby against one of the tables to try and dislodge it, a bullet goes through its skull and it's still, jaw unclenching from his hand.

"Are you insane?! You could have shot me!" he shouts at the woman with the rifle, before looking at the fucked up dead baby thing still in his hand, "Oh my god, you shot a baby! You killed the fucked up baby!"

"Nyet," Natalya said, taking the broken doll from him and with one deft twist wresting its head from its body to reveal the fluff and stuffing, as opposed to the (ableit rotted) human innards that would have otherwise been present.

"Would not have shot you. Also, is not baby. Is doll. I'm sorry you are disturbed by this."

He immediately drops it to the ground, because now that she's mentioned it, it does look more like a fucked up doll than a baby.

"Okay, so maybe it is," Nathan says, after a moment of looking at the thing on the ground. He's seen a few dead bodies in his time-- and has even been one a few times-- so he'd recognize one if he saw it. "But how was I supposed to know that?"

She didn't want to say she knew the toys would be trouble, but when they stayed when everything else left, she had some concerns. After all, whenever the island went through its little changes before, when the change ended, everything went with it, food, furnishings, Who-huts that didn't creak in the wind, but the toys, they stayed.

And she'd seen this movie before.

Which was why she was at the Hub, grabbing a drink and a snack before heading out to see how many of the little beasties she could kill. Seeing one of them bite the little asshole that had thought it funny to chuck something at her head, that was just entertainment. See if he didn't use that hand a little more responsibly now.

"Problems, kid?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe somebody's fucked up baby trying to eat me?!" Nathan shouts, as he flails about, finally actually letting go of the baby to try and use his free hand to hopefully pry it off of him. Were babies even supposed to have teeth? No wonder its Mum just left it at a bar. She's probably off somewhere seeing to her wounds.

She should help him. She really should help him. But if he was going to live on an island where things like this happened, he was going to have to learn some survival skills.

Still, she slid one of her knives from her boot and held it at the ready.

"It's not a baby, you know, it's a doll."

"Yeah? What makes you the expert on fucked up doll babies?" Nathan shouts, as the thing tightens its grip. He lets out a yelp and, abandoning all attempts to keep from beating up someone's ugly baby, starts to beat it against one of the tables.

Valkyrie had been patrolling the island, looking for more of the freakish creatures to take out and checking to make sure everyone else was okay. She had the Trinity costume on and she was rather badass, so she might as well make good use of it.

Unfortunately, the only weapon available to her was a small knife and a spear she had made herself out of bamboo. Not exactly the coolest looking weapons, but they were getting the job done.

She'd been tracking a particularly hideous zombie baby looking thing the last half hour and had only just lost sight of it near the Hub. The problem with these things was that they were so bloody small and the baby had the advantage of not being brightly colored like some of the things were. She was just about to give up the hunt when she saw through a window the creature biting down on some poor blokes hand.

"Hold your hand still," Valkyrie said, walking quickly into the Hub as the guy freaks out. If he keeps flailing about, she won't be able to stab the thing.

"Hey gimp, you forgot your mask," Nathan manages to say through the pain, because really, how can he not? He's seen her around before, and she's fit and all, but you can't walk around in a leather suit unless you're prepared for someone to make the connection.

The thing on his arm hurts like a bitch, though, so he does try his best to hold the thing still.

Without a word, Valkyrie grabbed the creature thing and twisted. She might have twisted more to cause him a bit of pain than to precisely get it off, but how could she not? You shouldn't go around making comments like that unless you're prepared to deal with the consequences.

"He's on there pretty good," she said, twisting a bit harder. Holding it steady with one hand, she grabbed her knife.

"Next option then."

"That isn't helping!" Nathan shouts as she starts twisting the demon baby, "And I'm fairly certain the fucked up baby doesn't like it either!"

At least, that's what he gathers from the fact that it's started doing this weird growling thing and has tightened its hold on him. Babies aren't even supposed to have teeth!

Okay, so maybe he doesn't actually know anything about babies, but he's sure its a fair bet.

"Hey! What's the knife for?!"

Sometimes he really worried about Nathan.

The guy was weird and did kind of dumb things and didn't really seem to care about his own welfare, and it's not like Puck was his mom or anything, but he sometimes wondered if there was actually something wrong with the guy. Or maybe he was just a giant dick, and it was as simple as that.

Either way, he wasn't all that surprised to see him holding a demon baby and asking if anyone had lost it, like anyone would be crazy enough to claim that thing.

Reluctantly crossing the room and reaching out to try and pry the thing from Nathan's hand, he said, "Dude, how in the hell could you not have seen this coming?"

"Pardon me for not jumpin' to the conclusion that the fucked up looking baby's a cannibal!" Nathan shouts, though he's glad to see Bart, if only so he can help him get the thing off.

"Are they even supposed to have teeth?"

"I don't know, man. It's got frickin' shark teeth. That wasn't a clue?" Puck countered, trying to pry the thing's mouth from Nathan's hand, but that only seemed to make it bite down harder.

"Man, it's like, really on there. You must've really pissed it off." So, okay, he might've been making fun of the guy, just a little, but it wasn't like anyone would blame him.

"I was trying to help!" Nathan shouts, because trying to pry the thing from his hand is doing more harm than good from a pain standpoint, "Excuse me for tryin' to do a good deed!"

Okay, so maybe he just didn't want to be blamed when the baby hit its head or got trampled or something. It'd be just his luck.

Alexis didn't go into the Hub very often. It wasn't that she didn't like the place or anything; in fact, it was pretty cool, with the pterodactyl painted on the ceiling. It was a good place to go for a change of scenery while she was studying, and as she walked in with a stack of homework curled in one arm, Alexis wished she thought to come over more often.

That train of thought got derailed pretty fast, though, when a guy she recognized as being one of the two who'd tried to crash Natalia's self defense was suddenly latched onto by a creepy-looking baby doll. "Oh my god!" Alexis exclaimed, hastily dumping her books and papers onto a desk and rushing over. She grabbed the doll and yanked, trying not to do too much damage to the guy in the process.

"Get it off me!" Nathan shouts as he flails and turns round towards the red head. The fucked up looking baby's dangling from his arm, growling at him, and it's got this look in his eye that says it's not letting go any time soon.

No wonder its mother abandoned it; Nathan would abandon it right this second if he could.

Jesus, breast feeding it must have been a bitch.

She kept yanking, twisting and turning to try and get the thing to let go, but the thing was stubborn. Grimacing, Alexis shoved her fingers into a gap she'd managed to create, trying to loosen the crazy possessed baby's jaws or something. Finally, the combination of that plus the way she was practically squishing the thing's head concave with the way she was jerking on it made it let go loose enough for her to get it off the guy, and she flung it as hard as she could against the wall.

"God, that was disgusting," she said, panting slightly, her fingers nicked where sharp little teeth had gotten them. "Are you okay?"

Nathan yelps as it hits the wall, rearing back to cradle his wounded hand.

"Jesus! What what was that?" Nathan shouts. Has someone trained a baby? Or maybe it's like all that power bullshit back home and it's got super bitey powers.
